11-12 baseball State Tournament opening ceremonies

Saturday morning in Hampden, the 11-12 All-Stars baseball State Tournament kicked off with the opening ceremonies, a base running contest,and a home run derby.

Kienan Brown (District 2 – Camden-Rockport) won the base running contest with a time of 11.46 seconds around the bases from home plate to home plate. Cumberland-North Yarmouth (District 6) player Matt Pisini finished second in the base running with a time of 11.65 seconds.

Dirigo (District 5) claimed the top two spots in the home run derby with Sawyer Pinkham taking first place and Jake Rideout getting the second place award.

Game play begins at 2:00 p.m. with District 4 (South Berwick) taking on District 5 (Dirigo). The second game of the day will be District 6 (Cumberland) taking on District 1 (Ellsworth).
