Nokomis, Houlton pick up John Bapst Play Day girls soccer wins

Orono – At the University of Maine on Saturday, the John Bapst girls soccer team hosted Nokomis of Newport and the Houlton Shires in a three game play day. In the first two games, Nokomis defeated host John Bapst 3-1 and in the second game the Shires defeated the Warriors 4-1. In the first game of the day, Nokomis’s Kyslend Fraser provided all the scoring in the first half with a goal off an assist from Alyssa Ellis 10 minutes into the half for the 1-0 lead over the Crusaders. Crusaders squeeze out win over Houlton in preseason football scrimmage

Bangor – Friday night at the Winkin Complex on the campus of Husson University, the John Bapst Crusaders managed to pull off a closing seconds 14-13 victory over the Houlton Shires in a preseason varsity football exhibition game. Both teams battled through the first half closing in a 6-6 tie. Houlton captured the lead in the second half taking a 13-6 lead, but the Crusaders managed to come away in the closing seconds of the game with the 14-13 win. Webb leads Waterville girls in 2-0 preseason soccer win over Hermon

Hermon – Preseason scrimmage games are when the kinks get worked out, coaches make use of all their players to see who can do what, and in the large scheme of things it means nothing else when it comes to wins and losses. That is pretty much the philosophy of the Hermon girls soccer team, as they suffered a 4-1 loss to Camden Hills on Tuesday and fell to Class B rival Waterville 2-0 on Thursday afternoon. Crusaders girls soccer expects improved season

Bangor – The John Bapst Memorial High School girls soccer varsity team was in full practice mode on Tuesday afternoon at Boucher Field on the campus of Husson University as they prepare for the upcoming 2015 season. In 2014, the Crusaders went 6-7-1 and finished the regular season ranked No. 11 in the Class B Heal Point Standings. They were knocked out of the playoffs in the prelim game, falling o the Camden Hill Windjammers 5-0. Hermon – The Hermon girls soccer team held their day four tryouts/practice with a morning session at the Hermon Elementary School on Thursday as they prepare for the upcoming 2015 season. In 2014. the Hawks went an impressive 13-1 on the regular season finishing No. 3 in the Heal Points Standings. They eventually lost to Waterville 1-0 in the Eastern Regional Final. Head Coach M.J. Crusaders football, boys soccer prepare for 2015 season

Bangor – Wednesday afternoon at the Dorothea Dix complex, both the boys soccer team and the football team from John Bapst Memorial High School held their respective tryouts/practice on day three of the high school fall sports season. According to soccer head coach Sean Smith, a few cuts have already been made and he is now left with 30 plus players from which both a varsity and junior varsity team will be made.
