Maranacook blanks Nokomis 2-0 in girls soccer

Newport – Tuesday afternoon at Nokomis High School, the Maranacook of Readfield Black Bears shut down the Nokomis offense and scored one goal in each half to come away with a 2-0 road win. With the win, Maranacook improved to 9-2-1 in Western Maine Class C. Nokomis falls to ,500 at 6-6 in Eastern Maine Class B. Patriots reclaim first place with 37-22 win over Bills

The Patriots gave it all they had, and came up with a huge victory. They did this without Stevan Ridley, and Jerod Mayo, as both were injured in the first half. Tom Brady put on quite a show. Brady completed 27 of 37 passes for 361 yards and four touchdowns. Hampden – It was a total team effort on Sunday in Hampden, as the 5th/6th grade Broncos Purple team showed a lot of heart and grit in the closing seconds of the game as the defensive unit pulled off a 4-down goal line stand with 3.8 seconds to play in the game to preserve an 8-8 tie against MDI. Old Town – Saturday afternoon on Victory Field at Old Town High School, Claire Petersen scored two goals to help lift the Hermon Hawks to a 3-0 win over the Old Town Coyotes. Brady, Ridley to much for Bengals in Patriots 43-17 win

Tom Brady is and always will be a good quarterback. All you have to do is provide Brady with pass protection. The Patriots offensive line did just that. Brady completed 23 of 35 passes for 292 yards, and two touchdowns. Patriots offensive guard Dan Connolly, had a great game. Connolly completely neutralized the Bengals best pass rusher, Geno Atkins. Unity Rams cruise to win over CMCC Mustangs

Unity – The Unity College womens soccer team improved to 6-2 overall and 4-1 in conference play as they breezed past the CMCC Mustangs 10-0 at Unity College on Friday afternoon. Central Maine CC falls to 0-5 overall and 0-4 in the conference. Mariza Gionfriddo (2), Ashley Moeller, Morgan Schroeder, and Melinda Gray each scored in the opening half of the game to give the Rams a 5-0 lead at the break. Gray added two more goals in the second half for a hat trick, and Gionfriddo added one more goal to record her hat trick for the game....
